About the Stokes

We are the Stokes Family and we are Second generation Church planting Missionaries to Spain. We are members of and sent out and through Shady Acres Baptist Church in Houston, TX. The Lord has blessed my wife Denise and I with four children and we are honored that the Lord has called us to serve Him by carrying out the Great Commission and taking the "Gospel" to the world.

Family history in Spain
|
The Lord called my dad Jay Stokes to the mission field of Spain in 1987 and in 1990 our family left our home church (Shady Acres Baptist Church) in Houston, Tx. and moved to Chipiona, Andalucia, Spain. We moved into a house in a neighborhood on the eastern edge of town and our family learned to speak Spanish and adapt to the culture of the people. After about ten months of working with another missionary, Chipiona Baptist Church was started in our home. Through preaching the Gospel and loving the people many Chipioneros were saved and many lives were reached throughout Spain through open-air evangelism and children's ministry.
